Below is the candidate slate for the 2023 AEHIT Board of Trustees ballot. Board members play an important role in guiding the overall direction of our organization. As a member, you have the opportunity to vote for the candidates that will best provide the governance care needed to lead AEHIT into the future. Please take some time to review the platform statements of the candidates and place your vote.

Jesse Fasolo, PhD(c), MS Director, Technology Infrastructure & Cybersecurity, Information Security Officer, St. Joseph’s Health

Jesse Fasolo serves as Director of Technology Infrastructure and Cyber Security at St. Joseph’s Health. His core mission is to lead multiple teams of technology innovators who usher the healthcare system through a digital transformation. In this role, Jesse is responsible for developing and implementing the information technology strategy to align with the health system’s overall strategic goals, deploying the latest technology to support business operations, and ensuring all data is protected. As the dedicated Information Security Officer, he has deep knowledge of Information Security Operations, Security Engineering, Identity and Access Management, Cloud Security, Governance, Risk, and Compliance. He oversees multiple teams, including Infrastructure Services, Information Security, Data and Device Integration, Telecommunications & AV Services, and Clinical Engineering.Over his 20-year career, his scope of responsibility has typically included: technology infrastructure, information systems, information security, project management, vendor management, business continuity/disaster recovery, service delivery, and business strategy. Before joining St. Joseph’s Health, Jesse gained extensive experience in information technology, holding senior roles across other industries, including finance, legal, and retail. He has a Master’s degree in Management, Strategy, and Leadership from Michigan State University and a Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems and Business Administration from the Florida Institute of Technology. Currently, he is completing a Ph.D. in Organizational Leadership to enhance his skills in leading organizations through transformations and further his development of advanced management competencies. As an ambassador to all things information technology and security related, he is regularly published in articles. In addition, he speaks at national-level events to further promote best practices and the adoption of technology. Finally, his love for developing others has led him to teach, mentor, and coach top talent in technology. I have a lot of knowledge in technology and information security in healthcare, which could help the mission of the Chime organization and my peers. My diverse background provides a different perspective on the various technologies used in each space and how the healthcare world is finally adopting them. From the core data center environment down to the patient-connected devices, I have had profound experiences and exposures in the healthcare space. With this knowledge, I can provide insights and guidance. Additionally, as a long-standing member of Chime, the time in my career is prime to offer support in this board-level capacity. I look towards further pushing not only the use of technology for better business and clinical outcomes and the use of the necessary security controls.

Jim Bilsky, MS, ITIL Vice President Enterprise IT Operations, Baptist Health

Proven technology executive with a history of providing technical guidance and leading strategic initiatives to decrease IT and business costs and execute effective programs. Track record of initiating and leading program initiatives and working with various mainframe services and technology applications. Leverage experience from progressive leadership roles over the last 15+ years to develop technology systems, communicate with business executives, and manage teams of IT professionals. My name is Jim Bilsky and I’m currently the Vice-President of Enterprise IT Operations at Baptist Health System. My journey within healthcare has afforded me the opportunity to experience, first, the provider marketplace, where I spent my time developing and leading the development of integrated Electronic medical records, Supply chain Management and Revenue Cycle system, and now as the Vice-President of Enterprise IT Operations. The skills learned and challenges faced along the way have been many and the goal of my board participation would be three-fold. First, assist in defining and forming the future of the Association for Executives in healthcare Information Technology (AEHIT) membership and sphere of influence by bringing forth fresh views that leverage my extensive and varied experiences as a seasoned health care information technology leader. These experiences are rooted solidly as a healthcare IT leader in the vendor market and the same within a larger delivery system. Second, to help form and shape the future solutions provided by various technology partners that target real-life solutions to serve those within healthcare by delivering highly modern and resilient platforms. Finally, participate in developing out-reach and mentorship programs aimed at the growth and the development of next generation of leadership. |

Tim Pugsley, MBA, FCHIME, FHIMSS, FACHE, CPHIMS, CHCIO IT Director, Mankato Clinic

Tim Pugsley joined Mankato Clinic in 2022 and has twenty-five years of experience in Information Technology with twenty one of those in Healthcare. His previous position was CIO for Titus Regional Medical Center. TRMC is a 174 bed multi-specialty health system serving over 100,00 lives in five counties. Preceding his role at TRMC, Mr. Pugsley was the CIO at Nebraska Orthopaedic Hospital, a physician owned specialty hospital focused on the total care of the orthopaedic patient. Before being a member of the senior leadership team at NOH, Mr. Pugsley was Director of Corporate Technologies with Student Resources, a division of UICI, a leading provider of insurance with annual revenues exceeding 2.1 Billion dollars. Mr. Pugsley earned both his Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems and Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Bellevue University in Bellevue NE. He is a Fellow with The American College of Healthcare Executives as well as holding certifications with College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (FCHIME and CHCIO), and Health Information Management Systems Society (FHIMSS and CPHIMS). Mr. Pugsley is married to his wife of twenty years, Amanda Pugsley and they have three children, Jordan, Madelyn, and Emma. His hobbies are focused primarily on outdoor sports including golf, fishing, boating, and hunting. I believe it is our duty to serve in any capacity that we can to support our members in healthcare IT. I have been in the technology space for most of my working career.
