Healthcare IT Executive Feroz Merchhiya to Serve on AEHIT Board


ANN ARBOR, MI, Jan. 23, 2020 – The Association for Executives in Healthcare Information Technology (AEHIT) welcomed a new member to its board this year. Feroz Merchhiya, CIO at Houston Ophthalmology Associates, will serve for three years as a member of the AEHIT Board.
 
“Feroz is a passionate advocate for his colleagues and the profession,” said 2019 AEHIT Board Chair Clint Perkinson, IT director at Beebe Healthcare. “He has a strong background as a leader who knows how to build teams and align healthcare technology with business strategies. He will help the AEHIT Board tremendously as we work to grow and support our membership.”
 
Merchhiya has 20 years of experience leading initiatives to deliver tangible business value by aligning technology road maps and strategy with business objectives of global organizations. He has served as the chief technology officer at various professional services organization, worked with emerging technology firms and as a principal consultant with a top-tier technology consulting practice.
 
“I believe a continuous learning and improvement environment is critical to today’s rapidly changing technology landscape,” Merchhiya said. “As a board member, I will strive to provide a fertile environment to innovate through peer-to-peer interaction while focusing on the industry-specific needs of our membership. I also will work to cultivate ‘partnership, equity, accountability and ownership’ where every member, partner and community at large is a stakeholder in the success of AEHIT.”
 
His board position began on Jan. 1. The board provides general guidance and direction on matters affecting the growth and development of AEHIT. AEHIT is an affiliate of the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME).
